Well, Sean and I spent most of Friday night at the ER. Eva woke around 10pm and started vomiting. She continued every 10 to 15 minutes for over 4 hours. At one point I noticed a very small amount of blood. Finally the Dr. gave her some medicine and she was able to stop vomiting and get a little rest. She has been pretty lethargic since and not really wanting to eat or drink much. Keeping her hydrated has become quite the challenge. Popsicles, gatorade, frozen apples, ice - anything to get her to drink a little bit of fluid. She doesn't really want anything though. She's now running a low-grade fever and yes...the diarrhea is still an issue. That's even starting to get worse. I'm calling her doctor first thing in the morning.

Well, I hate to post about things like this, but it seems this all that's on my mind. Eva has chronic diarrhea. This has been going on now for at least a month. I finally had a stool sample sent off on Thursday of this week and am eagerly awaiting the results. If she has some sort of aversion to a food, it'll be extremely difficult to determine which food it is. She eats everything I give her (minus eggs and grits - yes, she is my child). I feed her a large variety of foods and she loves it all. I'm starting to think of everything else now that I used to just chalk up to her age...easily bruses, cranky & irritable, gas, eating non-food items. But maybe everything together makes up something bigger? I'm sure not, but it's just been going on for so long. I'm frustrated and poor Eva. We've been able to keep any diaper rash down to a minimum thanks to the WONDERFUL cream prescribed by her doctor.

Eva has another tooth! Finally! It's not like I didn't think she would get all her teeth, but it seems like FOREVER since she got her last one. I sure hope that's why she's been so irritable, and had diarrhea for the last 10 days. It's her bottom right incisor. Now she has 7. Yea for our little girl :)

Trip to the dentist
Eva and I made it to the dentist this morning. Although for a brief moment I didn't think it would happen. I forgot, until 7:09 when I woke from my dream, that she had an appointment at 8am. No big deal, it's right down the road. Oh wait...traffic?! I haven't driven at that time of morning in so long and I didn't plan correctly. But we made it, much to Eva's dissapointment. Oh, and yea for us, her diarrhea is back. I changed her diaper 4 times btwn 7:15 and 8. Poor girl. Eva's dentist is great. Dr. Paul. He has two toddlers so I feel like he can really relate to my life. His exam area is a large, very open area with only small dividers btwn chairs. The two largest walls are painted top to bottom with an animal mural. And they have oversized stuffed animals in the corner. It's perfect. Until the exam has to start anyway. Just like last time, he only did a "lap exam". Eva lays on both the Dr's and my lap - not in the big scary chair. Even though she still only has 6 teeth he says everything is good. I was hoping he'd tell me her molars were just about to break through. Then I could blame the diarrhea on that. But no. In another few months or so - but nothing just yet. So he brushed, flossed and applied a floride treatment on her 6 little teeth while she screamed at the top of her lungs. I'm pretty sure she got her feelings across. :) Then she gets to pick out a prize and Dr. Paul says she can have two. A squirty fish and a Hello Kitty sticker. Everyone keeps telling me it'll get easier and easier the more she comes. I sure hope they're right?! I guess we'll see...I made another appointment for 6 months down the road - just not at 8am!
